Our Town

July Fourth Picture Our town welcomes business! We are very proud of our town. Once you come to visit us, you'll understand why! Our picturesque community, population 2500, was built on small-town family values where caring and helping is a way of life. Generations of families have grown up here and still enjoy a quality of life that is hard to find these days. People who have left are returning and others who have just discovered us are here...to live and work where they know they can be more connected to their values, establish a healthier pace, and feel a part of the community that surrounds them. This is truly the right place at the right time.

Labor

Colebrook offers an abundant, well-trained and disciplined labor force with a work ethic that demands quality, and we're affordable. In fact, New Hampshire has no personal state income tax or general use sales tax. We enjoy that and you will too.

Recreation

Activities and recreation are at your doorstep. You can relax in numerous ways, fishing, hiking, hunting, snowmobiling, biking, skiing, and boating. Trail systems are extensive and we're always adding more. We have three golf courses, including the Panorama at the Balsams (just 10 miles away) cited by Golf Digest as the "best golf course in New Hampshire". Canada, our close neighbor is only 10 miles to the north. Quebec, with its European-flavored historic cities offers grand international appeal and traditions.

Education

The Colebrook school system offers grades K-12 with a strong sports program for the students. Emphasis is placed on preparing students for their future, whether it be for college by offering college prep courses or for the workplace through the School-To-Work Program. Local educators and businesses are committed to providing skills which will equip students for the marketplace.

Healthcare

When it comes to health care, we have it all. Our own community hospital, Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital, is a member of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Alliance and enjoys an excellent reputation as a care provider. The Indian Stream Clinic, located next to the hospital, offers a full service family practice. Coos Country Nursing Home, a highly acclaimed long-term care facility, is located just eight miles north of us. Colebrook also has a dentist, veterinary clinic, and optometrist. A top notch mental health clinic-Upper Connecticut Valley Mental Health and Developmental Services rounds out the health care picture.

Downtown

We have a downtown development organization that has worked hard to establish Colebrook as a "Main Street Community". The prestigious designation entitles us to help from the parent organization, the National Main Street Program and is indicative of the concern and commitment our residents folks have for our community.
